Brewery: The Bruery
Location: Placentia, CA
Style: Barrel-Aged Imperial Blonde Stout.
ABV: 11.1%

Creme De La Creme is next on the review table. I served it at 48 degrees. I used tulip glass; the pour created a frothy, airy, light tan two-fingered head with average retention. The dissipation left no lacing on the glass. The color is charting around SRM 18, dark brown. The appearance is slightly below average. I don't know how to rate blonde stout from a regular stout without the dark-roasted malts.
Nosing the glass, I smell chocolate, vanilla, loads of caramel, raisins, doughy bread, burnt sugar, slight smokiness, oaky bourbon, and a touch of char. The nose on this beer is fantastic. The caramel aroma is dripping with sweetness.
The beer drips with oaky bourbon, donut, vanilla, and caramel, with lots of sweetness. Sipping the beer again, I taste smokiness, burnt sugar, caramel, light roasty malts, raisins, date, floral, and doughy bread.
The mouthfeel is warming and finishes dry. The body is medium plus and has medium carbonation.
This beer is heavy with caramel and vanilla, with aggressive hops. This one is my least favorite of the four beers in the donut box. It is not as sugary as the last one, but close. The caramel flavors are bold and get boring after a few sips. Overall a decent dessert beer.
