Poured into a Stone Gargoyle flute. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing opaque in the glass and a half finger chocolate head with good retention and slippery solid lacing. Aroma of semi-sweet dark toasted malt, banana, mild cinnamon and vanilla. Flavor is dark toasted malt, bananas, cinnamon and vanilla. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. A pleasant dessert style stout that is moderately sweet, but not cloying. Excellent balance of the main adjuncts; banana, cinnamon, vanilla are in nice harmony. Another fine stout from the Bruery. May have some age on it, but the date stamp is blurry; I'm guessing a year or so old, but still tastes great.

I am drinking Licuados using a tulip glass. I served it at 52 degrees. The pour created an airy, two-fingered, dark tan head with average retention. The color is dark brown, nearly black, charting around 34. The beer is opaque. No lacing was left on the sides of the glass as it dissipated. The appearance is average for this style.
Dark chocolate-covered bananas with cinnamon are the first aromas. Nosing the glass a few times, I smell coffee, oak, brown sugar, molasses, and earthiness—undertones of caramel, vanilla, and a light char.
This beer has these ripe, sugary bananas covered in dark chocolate with a light dusting of cinnamon. Sipping the beer again, the mellow aging of the bourbon barrels gives undertones of bourbon, oak, and a light char—coffee, caramel, molasses, brown sugar, raisins, vanilla, and dark roasty notes.
The mouthfeel is chewy and creamy, finishing smooth. The body is heavy and has light carbonation.
A favorite beer of mine. The reason I have enjoyed and loved this beer is the banana flavor. Generally, a beer with bananas tastes either too fake or barely any banana flavors. Bringing the ripe banana flavor to the forefront of the palate makes it a wonderful experience. I bought several of these and consumed them over the years. The aging does not affect the taste; it makes it a touch mellower. The last can I have; I hope they produce this beer again.

Pours deepest dark brown, nearly black, with a creamy, moderately carbonated one finger head. Aroma is bananas, bourbon and faintly cinnamon. Taste is complex and not overly unbalanced --bourbon, bananas and chocolate are all immediately detectable in nearly equal amounts. The taste is smooth and creamy. Do not let the fact that bananas as used as an ingredient here. This is a fully complex and wonderful beer well worth trying. Beautifully done.

16oz can poured into a teku
A- pours a thick jet black color with a one-finger creamy khaki head that eventually reduces to nothing
S- aroma opens with overripe banana, banana pudding and vanilla cream. Undertones of milk chocolate, vanilla wafer and a hint of cinnamon and oak
T- Sweet bananas dominate up front; overripe banana with a banana pudding/vanilla whipped cream combo. The cinnamon kicks in mid-palate, along with notes of chocolate and caramel. The finish brings out a light oaky undertone, with more banana pudding and cinnamon sticking around on the linger
M- heavy body with moderate carbonation leads to a thick and creamy mouthfeel that continues into the finish
O- a banana showcase with plenty of chocolate notes to compliment from the base beer. Only downside was I could have used more barrel

16oz can. Poured out an opaque, jet-black color with a small, light brown head of fluffy foam. It left sticky rings of lace on the glass. It smelled of banana, roasted malt, toffee and rich chocolate. Sweet toffee, chocolate and a nice bourbon, oak and vanilla finish.

16 ounce can, packaged 04/15/21. Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch tan head. Head retention and lacing are both decent enough. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like banana, roasted malt, vanilla, cinnamon and some oak. For the most part I think the taste is pretty much like the aroma, but with the addition of some chocolate, dark bready and a hint of whiskey flavor. The barrel doesn't seem all that strong to me, but I think the banana, vanilla and cinnamon flavors stand out compared to the others although none of them were overpowering. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's coating and a bit creamy with a good amount of carbonation. I liked this imperial stout a lot, recommended to those who like imperial stouts and/or banana beers. I'd like to try it again in the future!
