Bourbon barrel-aged wheatwine ale with strawberries, cacao nibs, and vanilla beans.
Like a white chocolate-dipped strawberry, but better; White Chocolate Strawberry combines our bourbon barrel-aged wheatwine-style ale, treated with cacao nibs and hand-processed vanilla beans, with delicious strawberries, effortlessly blending flavors together for bright flavor and added complexity. The result is a big-bodied ale with notes of caramel and vanilla, rounded out with a touch of fruit sweetness.

Bottle pour - opaque reddish amber color with short off white head leaving a ring of bubbles. Nose is sweet and boozy. Taste follows with hints of vanilla, strawberry and bourbon barrel wood. Finish is on the dry side with a lingering boozy sweetness.

16 ounce can into a snifter. Canned 2/3/22, had 5/6/22.
Pours a reddish pink, fairly clear, with a short head and scarce lacing. A ring of foam trails down the glass. Aromas of vanilla, strawberry, malt, chocolate, caramel, light bourbon. The flavors mostly match the nose- bourbon, chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, malt, caramel as it warms. Has touch of a tart and sour taste. Smooth, a very good medium body, well carbonated.
Not as robust as the old White Oak or White Chocolate, but still very good. The chocolate, vanilla and strawberry all stand out well. Lighter barrels than preferred, but they have a presence. This is best fully warmed.

Murky maroon pour with a cream colored cap. Nose is spot on: big sweet strawberry with white chocolate, vanilla, and bourbon, with hints of underlying dark wheat and oak. Taste however doesn't translate as well as the barrel is a little warm, accentuating the sweetness of the strawberry and vanilla especially, making it almost syrupy, wheat cuts through in a non-complimentary way, still a fine dessert wheatwine flavor, but I would age it actually. Feel has booze and wheat bite despite the saccharine nature, boozy in general. Cherry was way better as it was more cohesive, where here the sweetness of the strawberry was slightly overwhelmed without the tartness of the cherry to balance

16 ounce can, canned on 02/03/22. Served in a snifter, the beer pours a reddish/amber color with about an inch or so off-white head. Head retention and lacing are both good. I like the aroma a lot, the brew smells like chocolate, strawberry, vanilla, caramel and cream. For the most part I think the taste is like the aroma, but there's also some wheat/grainy malt, bourbon, oak and a bit of coconut flavors noticeable too. Think the barrel is overpowered by the chocolate and strawberry but that's not a complaint in this case. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's slick and smooth with a moderate amount of carbonation. Think I need to buy some more of these!

This ruby-red pour was initially super-carbed and fizzy, to the point I thought the dreaded I-word may be in play, but nope. Thankfully no tartness or off-flavors. In fact, this one is delightful. Much better than the Raspberry iteration where the fruit overpowered everything, this one actually has the WC base that I remember and love. Great beer, and dangerously easy drinking.

750 mL bottle into a snifter.
Ruby red grapefruit appearance, wispy head quickly dissipates. Subdued nose, with hints of vanilla and berry fruit, touch of oak.
Flavors are more pronounced, and the added strawberry change the original White Chocolate profile completely…in a good way. A lot of time these fruit-added variations don’t really build off of the original beer, but this is a nice twist. Vanilla and strawberry notes play off each other nicely, with the oak-aging drying the brew for a relatively short finish.
Low viscosity for the style, easy to quaff.

Look: mostly clear red. Nice pink head on the pour. Messy lacing that tries to linger.
Smell: strawberry up front. The cocoa nibs and vanilla are pretty subtle but there. Not much barrel.
Taste: much like the nose. Pretty clean wheatwine with hints of adjuncts. Super easy drinker.
