Pours a semi-clear light gold. No real head to speak of. A few stray bubbles.
Smells lightly of grain-y ... sweetness ... and a bit of earthy citrus tones. No funk to the nose.
No funk to the flavor, either. Wasn't this 100% Brett fermentation? A buttery grain sweetness, a hint of citrus, some earthy aftertastes.
Needs more carbonation.

Reviewed from notes.
Extremely low carbonation, bordering on flat. This is a pretty pale gold. Light pineapple and funk on the nose, just a hint of warm spice in the back. This tastes empty, watery and thin on the palate, the carbonation sorely lacking what is otherwise a quite pleasant taste. I can't decide if I'm being overly generous or strict in my scoring, but I will say this: I'm not sure I see the point in brett-primary fermentation. If Orval has taught us anything it's about the wonderful secondary work that this beer can accomplish.

Growler received in a great trade with CatieD. Thanks Catie! Poured into a Sierra Nevada 30th Anniversay snifter.
A - Poured a hazy golden color with traces of orange. Foamed up a bit on the pour and resulted in a couple of fingers of forthy white head. Foam had decent staying power and left behind on the glass.
S - Grainy, wheaty, slightly fruity and some buttery diacetyl...hmm, no indication of brett in the nose.
T - Grainy, bready, some buttery diacetyl, light fruitiness from the hops...but I really don't get any brett out of this at all. Fine as a light blonde ale, but I was expecting some funk here.
M - Light to medium bodied with a slightly low carbonation level. A bit fizzy on the tongue.
D - Not bad overall, but definitely not what I expected out of this one...I was expecting a filthy blonde and I think I got a goody-two-shoes blonde. No funk, no real distinguishing character...a fine beer to bring home to mom, but I was hoping for a bit more out of this girl.

A: poured a hazy golden orange with a thin head and a little sticky lacing left on the glass.
S: really wheat grain aroma with a hint of spice slight citrus orange and faint brett notes.
T: mostly wheat malts with very little hop character slight spice and very little citrus flavor.
M: light to medium body with a low amount of carbonation and a crisp finish.
D: very drinkable beer for the hot summer sun that light in body and flavor but then again most blonde style beers are like that.

T: A little bit of gram cracker, candied sugar and caramel and then the brett.
M: slightly rubbery and a stringent, nice light and light though
D: Overall this is a very mellow and sessionable beer

On-tap at the Bruery
A: The pour is a cloudy golden-orange color with a mild white head.
S: The brett does not really produce too much in terms of funk here. Some fruitiness in the form of oranges and pineapple, along with a mild spiciness and perhaps a bit earthy.
T: There is a sweetness and bready malt character to the beer that I was not exactly expecting. Tropical fruits come through nicely as does a mild earthiness and bitterness.
M: Medium body with a soft, rolling carbonation. Perhaps a bit watery/thin.
D: A decent beer and easy to drink, especially at 4.0%, but not really my favorite in terms of the flavors.

On-tap at The Bruery itself,
A: Pours a lightly hazy golden orange with a light white head, fair retention.
S: Very enjoyable funky Brett notes, leather & horse blanket, with a lot of grain.
T: The grain comes out in a good way, with some white pepper and earthy hops. Brett is much lighter than in the nose.
M: Light-bodied, fizzy, dry feel.
D: With its dry character and low alcohol, this for a light beer is exquisite. Overall it's a nice session ale. Good flavour though I wanted the Brett to come out a little more in the forefont, hinting at greatness, but the 4% restrains it. Makes me wonder if this is what the legendary Petite Orval tastes like.
