Bourbon barrel-aged ale with ginger, orange peel, lemon verbena, and orange blossom honey.
This spring Belgian-style ale is sugar, spice, and Everything Nice. We blended our bourbon barrel-aged White Oak Sap with our Anniversary ale, then treated it with ginger, orange peel, lemon verbena, and orange blossom honey for the perfect blend of sweet and spice. Enjoy nuances of caramel, honey, flowers, and ginger spice. Light in color, bold in flavor, and perfect for a warm spring afternoon.

Mahogany color. Big, off-white head. Ginger, orange, honey, oak, and bourbon in the aroma. Slightly sweet, complex taste with a warming finish. Good.

750 mL bottle into a glass chalice
Reddish brown in appearance, effervescent head quickly dissipates.
Nose is fully of oak and ginger and cherry esters. Boozy heat lingers.
Flavors follow, with the added ginger and honey taking center stage. Nice ratio of oaky balance and honey sweetness. I can see why some noted its lacks those distinctive fruity Belgian-y esters, but they’re in there - just surrounded by adjuncts that alter their profile.
Does what it sets out to do and pretty quaffable in its context.

750ml bottle into a tulip snifter. Bottled 11/2022- couldn’t read the day, had 5/18/24.
Pours a lighter orange amber color, cloudy, with a brief head and light foamy lacing. Aromas of caramel, ginger, bourbon, orange peel. Smells a little floral. Flavors of caramel, bourbon, ginger, orange peel, malt. Tastes a little floral. Smooth, a very good medium body, well carbonated.
Great aromas and flavors that are well balanced- nothing really stands above the rest. Different and very enjoyable.

750 ml bottle, 2022 edition, bottled 03/25/22. Served in a Teku, the beer pours a reddish/amber color with about an inch off-white head that stuck around a little while. Decent amount of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like caramel, orange peel, ginger, honey, vanilla and some lemon. Taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some bourbon, bready malt and floral flavors. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's coating and easy to drink with a moderate amount of carbonation. Doesn't seem like it's 14.7% ABV when drinking it, sure the age has mellowed it out some. Still drinking pretty good, too. I liked this one overall, certainly worth trying if you get the chance!

From a bottle. Pours a rich clear chestnut. Smells boozy, caramel. The flavor is caramel, herbal, spicy, and ginger. Medium bodied. Sadly, I'm losing a lot of the other described flavors and smells under the booze.

Buddy brown to copper with half finger half white head. Nose is mix of bourbon, orange, ginger, lemon and spice. Taste opens with a smooth lemon vanilla cream with orange and spice around the edges and ends with a lingering floral honey sweetness. Body is medium with light to medium carbonation. Ends sweet and dry. Overall it’s nice, good fall/winter sipper, though slightly fatiguing. Can’t pick up on the ABV at all. Would be nice with a holiday dinner.

Bottle pour - looks like murky barleywine , smells like some of my favorite holiday ales and tastes quite similar to several of those albeit a dominating orange flavor pervades. Has an interesting Belgian feel to it but is definitely not Belgian. Tasty enough.

Poured from a big bottle at fridge temp. Pours a dark brown with a reddish tint. Good amount of off-white head that quickly dissipates. The nose is crazy. Tons of oranges, honey, and ginger. Some toffee and bourbon sneak through. Wow. Lemon, vanilla, cinnamon, and a hint of chocolate. The taste departs a bit from the nose. More bitter citrus peel, honey, ginger, booze, vanilla, candy, a floral note, and sweet bread. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a ton of sweetness. Overall, a really interesting beer worth seeking out to try once.

1st, I hope I classified this more or less correctly. Part of the base, White Sap itself a blend of wheatwine and golden ale. That was blended with an anniversary ale for this. The Bruery calls it a Belgian style so went with that.
Look: clear caramel with big fluffy tannish head on the pour.
Smell: Bright ginger, lemon and spicy Belgian, mixed with honey and dark fruit.
Taste: much like the nose. Interesting mix of styles.
