Blended bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout with strawberries, cacao nibs, and Madagascar vanilla beans
I scream, you scream, We All Scream for this ice cream-inspired stout! We started with a melange of barrel-aged imperial stouts, then added cacao nibs, Madagascar vanilla beans, and strawberries for the perfect Neapolitan treatment in the same vein as our 2021 Scoop Scoop Scoop and 2020's Fürst. Sweet, rich, and decadent; add a cherry on top to this sundae and dig in.

From the 1 pt 9 fl oz bottle in a snifter, 2022 edition via Bluejacket74! Cheers Dude and Merry Christmas!
This solid little pastry pours a rich coal black with a moderate head of khaki foam that settles to a thck
ring, thin dusty layer, and sports some light lacing and and light legs. Nose of light bourbon, vanilla,
chocolate, strawberry, and light brulee. Flavors expand on the nose with bourbon, oak, vanilla,
dark cocoa, strawberry preserves, and light char dashed with deep roast and toffee notes.
Mouth feel is full, smooth, rich, coating, light carbonation, and a medium bitter malt finish.
Of note, coffee notes rise with warmth.
Overall, a solid brew from a fantastic brewery!
Cheers

Absolutely, amazingly delicious and massive beer. Heavy on the strawberry influence, but not over the top; it's slightly sharp, but not exactly sour. Rich and delectable, but not at all cloying (it's definitely not a pastry stout).
The ABV hits just right: you can tell it's a big beer, but it drinks far too easy for the sky high ABV.
Tasting notes of cream, strawberry, roast, chocolate, bourbon, toffee, caramel.

750 wax-tipped bottle into a snifter
Black-colored brew, medium viscosity, no head or lacing to speak of. Nose is super oaky, with lots of cocoa essence and berries. Flavors hit all the notes described on the bottle, strawberries prominent, with suggestions of anise and molasses underpinning the profile. Medium bodied for the style, long finish.
Can totally see what they were going for here, and it does taste like a scoop of Neapolitan ice cream, running your spoon from edge-to-edge of the carton. But the strawberries are a little too prominent for my tastes, and a little disjointed from the base caramelly notes of barrel-aged stout.

750 ml white wax capped bottle, 2022 vintage, bottled on 04/11/22. Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch tan head. Head retention and lacing are both good enough. I like the aroma, the brew smells like vanilla, dark chocolate, strawberry, roasted malt, some some bourbon. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some coffee, burnt/charred malt and caramel flavors noticeable too. Definitely nailed the Neapolitan flavors here, all the flavors are there but with no one flavor overpowering the others. More of a sweet tasting imperial stout. Mouthfeel/body is full, it's creamy and coating with a moderate amount of carbonation. the 15.3% ABV is well hidden! I thought this was pretty good, recommend this one if you like sweeter tasting imperial stouts.

Bourbon barrel aged stout with strawberries, cacao nibs, Madagascar vanilla beans.
Look: deep dark imp stout. Some faint ruby highlights when held to light. Big mocha head on the pour that recedes to a ring.
Smell: all the advertised flavors…strawberry vanilla, chocolate. Add bourbon and we have an adult Neapolitan treat.
Taste: like the nose. Very well done. All the advertised flavors, sweetness balanced with a bourbon, roasty edge.
