We could’ve called this beer B.B.B.B.V., but we thought that’d be mean. But all the B’s are what’s giving this blended ale its delicious flavor: we added hundreds of pounds of black currants, blackberries, blueberries, and boysenberries, along with hand-processed Tahitian vanilla beans, to add rich berry flavor to this deliciously complex sour blend.

I am dipping my toes back in another sour from The Bruery. I am serving it at 48 degrees in a tulip glass; the pour formed a creamy, frothy, one-fingered light tan head with above-average retention. The beer's color is rusty brown, with dark teak red hues, opaque, and charts at SRM 30. The slow dissipation left lots of lacing on the glass, with a frothy ring around the liquid. The beer's overall appearance is above-average for this style.
Smelling the glass, lots of berries, currants, vanilla, bourbon, oak, bread, and molasses. Nosing the glass again, I detect light char, caramel, funkiness, earthiness, floral esters, acidic acid, and resin.
The first sip, jammed full of berries, followed by currants, then bourbon, char, and caramel. Next sip, I notice lemons, tartness, fruity sweetness, vanilla, oak, and earthiness. After sipping on this beer for a few, I noticed floral esters, yeasty notes, lightly toasted malts, and funky horse blanket.
The mouthfeel is tart and mouthpuckering with a light, crisp finish. The medium carbonation complements the barrel aging, cajoling you to keep consuming.
Final Impression: This beer is chock-full of berries and currants, with a lovely barrel finish. The beer has a lot of sourness thatis mouth-puckering; I was hoping for more balance overall. It is a delicious beer to enjoy.

750 ml bottle, 2022 edition, couldn't find the bottling date on this one. Served in a Teku, the beer pours a dark brownish/red color with about an inch light tan head that stuck around a while. Good amount of lacing. Lots of tart dark berries in the aroma, the brew smells like blackberries, blueberries, boysenberries, vanilla, oak and some funk. Taste pretty much follows the aroma, but with the addition of some black currant and citrus peel flavors. Good amount of fruity tartness in this brew! Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's a bit coating with a moderate amount of carbonation. If you like tart, dark fruity berry brews then give this one a try!
