I picked up this beer on my recent visit to the Bruery. I wanted a couple of bottles, but the only thing available was a crowler from the tap. Time was of the essence to get this on my review table. I am using a tulip glass and serving this at 52 degrees. The pour created a creamy and foamy two-fingered dark brown head. The head retention is above average and slowly dissipated. The slow dissipation left bits of lacing on the glass. The appearance is on par with this style.
Nosing the glass, I smell dark chocolate, nuts, coconuts, coffee, molasses, bourbon, vanilla, berries, a bit of earthiness, raisins, caramel, dark roasted malts, a touch of char, and dark brown sugar.
I taste coconut, vanilla, bourbons, berries, nuttiness, caramel, figs, raisins, dark roasted malts, medium roasted coffee, a hint of burnt sugar, a touch of char, and dark chocolate with some earthiness.
The mouthfeel is creamy and thick. The body is heavy, has low carbonation, and has a long finish.
This is a dream to drink. I wanted a few bottles to age for a few years and see how it holds up. This beer is slightly hot from the alcohol; however, I could not tell it was over 16 percent. The flavors are outstanding and delicious. I loved this beer.

Look: deep dark Bruery stout, some ruby highlights only around the edges when held to light. Sparse mocha head.
Smell: Hazelnuts, bourbon-vanilla, coconuts in that order. Rich, rich, rich overall nose.
Taste: even better than the nose. Super rich, all flavors blended in a complimentary way, nice velvety big mouthfeel.
