Belgian-style Dubbel ale | 7.5% ABV
Let’s dive into the history book, shall we? Belgian beers are what The Bruery was founded on; Dubbeling Down is a classic Belgian-style Dubbel ale crafted in tribute to our Belgian-inspired history. Enjoy aromas of dark fruit, slight spice, and rich caramel from toasted malts and yeast, and light bitterness from delicate hop character. This is one for the books!

Ruby and brown with a 3 finger white head. Nose is full of caramel, Belgian yeasty spice, chocolate and vanilla notes. Taste follows the nose and opens with spice, and yeast that follows with a chocolate caramel middle and ends with plum and raisins. Body is light to medium with medium carbonation. Ends with lingering plum. Overall a solid double, classic in all its notes and done well.

Looking over what beer styles I have reviewed the most, I realize I need to expand. I have tried almost all the beer styles. I got this recently from The Bruery; it is a fresh beer. Using a chalice, I served the beer at around 48 degrees. The pour created a creamy and frothy two-fingered head with average retention. The somewhat slow dissipation left bits of lacing on the glass. I am charting the color around SRM 20, a ruby brown with dark mahogany hues. The clarity is clear, with some carbonation bubbles visible. Overall the appearance is slightly above average.
The sharp pungent aromas of yeast, banana, cloves, and spicy phenols are what I anticipated. Yet, the nose was blended with toasted bread crust, toasted malts, caramel, cherries, floral esters, and some earthiness.
The flavors are cloves, bananas, spicy phenols, toasted breadiness, toasted malts, caramel, earthiness, cherries, and yeasty.
The mouthfeel is slightly dry and carbonated. The body is medium, has a medium-plus carbonation, and a pleasant finish.
Wow, I love this beer. The brewers crafted a delicate, flavorful, and balanced creation. I am going to get a couple more bottles. I do not know what to expect when I get these beers; almost always it is amazing
