Step into Forgotten Lore and experience distiller-and-Bruer collaboration on a whole new level. Alongside our friends at Sagamore Spirit Distillery out of Baltimore, Maryland, we aged Black Tuesday in Sagamore’s double oak rye barrels, resulting in a complex beer beautifully showcasing Sagamore’s barrel character. Aromas of chocolate pudding, crusty bread, and dried berries rise to greet you ahead of notes of rye malt, dried white flowers, and toasted oak.

From the 12.7 oz bottle in a snifter with a big thanks to Bluejacket74 for this one!
This behemoth pours a brownish black with a moderate head of khaki foam that
settles to a thin ring, faint clumping layer, and sports some nice legs. Nose of rich
whiskey, oak, dark molasses, light vanilla, dark fruit notes, and dark chocolate. Flavors
nail it with dark chocolate, whiskey, dark coffee touches, dark bread, oak, dark fruits
of raspberry, raisin, moderate char, dark cherry notes with warmth, and spicy rye.
Mouth feel is full, warming, smooth, rich, moderately coating, medium light
carbonation, and a warming lightly dry finish.
Overall, another stunner!
Cheers

12.7 ounce bottle, the 2nd date of the month is missing from the date stamp but I can tell it was bottled sometime in October 2023. Served in a Bruery chalice, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch tan head. The head didn't stick around for very long, and there's a small amount of lacing. I like the aroma, the brew smells like roasted malt, dark fruit, rye whiskey, vanilla and dark chocolate. For the most part I think the taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some dark bread, burnt/charred malt, oak and coffee flavors. Nice amount of rye barrel character here. Mouthfeel/body is full, it's slick and a bit syrupy with a moderate amount of carbonation. I liked this one a lot, worth trying for sure especially if you like big stouts and rye barrel aged brews!
