On-tap at Bruery Provisions
A: The pour is just about as black as you can get with a massive brown head that displays excellent retention and sticky lacing.
S: This is supposed to be a chile beer, but I don't get very much chile aroma out of it. Perhaps a touch of earthiness, but there is more of a black pepper aroma than anything. A big time banana smell is also present.
T: The banana flavor and sweetness really dominate the beer, but I don't find that to be a bad thing. I don't get much chile on the palate either: just a hint of warmth to it. A moderate roastiness and perhaps some vanilla.
M: Medium in body with a moderate level of carbonaiton.
O: Although there wasn't much chile flavor/character here, the beer was quite nice.

On-tap at The Bruery Provisions, a black saison with ghost chiles,
A: Pours black with a strong tan to brown head, good lace, nice looking.
S: Chocolate and roasted malt heavy, just a hint of the chiles.
T: Matches the nose well bring dark bitter chocolate with a hint of charcoal but not over done. The chiles are stealthy, they hide until the very end, and then they come out with a bang.
M: Medium-bodied, I don't know the ABV, but I'd guess around 7%. Medium capsaicin effect, I've had spicier beers, but this one is no slouch, soft easy going carbonation.
O: A really nice new beer from The Bruery, brewed apparently for Cinco de Mayo, well made.
