As much as we love our barrels, sometimes it’s time to say adios! After 3 years of aging in 500L sherry casks, the time has come to share this unbelievably decadent sipper. In imitation of the old world tradition of outdoor aging for extended periods, Adios Martes doesn’t say goodbye— rather, hello to a new year of incredible beer.

750 ml bottle, 2024 edition, bottled 12/08/23. Served in a chalice, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch tan head that stayed around for a while. Decent amount of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like dark fruit, sherry, roasted malt, dark chocolate and some oak. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's the addition of some burnt/charred malt and earthy flavors. I think the dark fruit/sherry stands out in both the taste and aroma. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's a bit creamy and rich with a moderate amount of soft carbonation. It's a little boozy but doesn't seem like it's 17.1% ABV either. I liked this one a lot but recommend this one more to people who like sherry aged brews!
