Apple brandy barrel-aged imperial stout with root beer natural flavor, vanilla, and spices
Order up— one root beer on deck! After aging our Monster Stout in apple brandy barrels, we added all the fixins’ to get that iconic diner-esque flavor: root beer extract, vanilla, and a spice blend of star anise, ginger, licorice root, dandelion root, and birch bark. Best enjoyed in a frosty mug with a scoop of vanilla ice cream (bendy straw optional).

Mother Floater pours black, with no head. The aroma is filled with sweet notes, lots of birth bark, vanilla, more birch beer, then root beer. The flavor is the same: very rich, sweet, sweet, vanilla, anise. Great feel. Overall, it's a great, birch beer sweet stout.

750 ml bottle, 2024 edition, bottled 02/07/24. Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch tan head that stuck around for a while. Decent amount of lacing. I like the aroma, the brew smells like roasted malt, apple brandy, vanilla, ginger and some root beer. Taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some anise, dark bread, earthy and burnt/charred malt flavors. The root beer flavor isn't strong, but then that's probably not a bad thing in this case. With that being said it is noticeable. Wish the barrel character was stronger, too. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's a bit rich and creamy with a good amount of carbonation. I thought this was a good overall imperial stout, worth trying if you get the chance!

Look: deep dark big Bruery stout, dark mocha head.
Smell: damn if it doesn’t smell like a rich root beer, with a roasty edge.
Taste: sort of the nose in reverse. The stout is more up front, root beer more subtle.
