Triple Bourbon Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout with Cacao Nibs and Vanilla Beans
Starting with a base of Black Tuesday, Chocolate Dynasty extends the lineage of Chocolate Rain and builds upon the crown held by Chocolate Reign. It experienced three separate rounds of barrel-aging, ultimately ending in Elijah Craig and George Dickel barrels with cacao and vanilla added directly to the barrel to accentuate the richness. The result is a bold, decadent stout fit for royalty.

Acquired a 2024 375 ml bottle while volunteering at the Eighth State Brewing festival 7-27-24. May Eighth State rest in peace.
Beer poured dark brown with a nice tan head.
Nose is very chocolate forward along with vanilla and bourbon.
Taste is a huge medium roasted malt base that combines very nicely with the threesome of barrels that leaves a heavy wood theme along with a deft touch of bourbons that balance out the dark cocoa and vanilla expertly. Finishes with a warming glow like a dram of whiskey on a cold winters evening.
Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied and pretty smooth. Wish this had more viscosity.
Overall, wow what a wonderful job of masking the high abv. Yes, one can feel the warming glow post taste but surprisingly is not hot on the palate. Nice job Bruery!

Black color with thin, beige hea that quickly disappears. Chocolate, vanilla, and bourbon in the aroma. Boozy, dry taste with notes of chocolate and vanilla. Warming finish with a bourbon aftertaste.

From the 12.7 oz bottle in a snifter. A GIANT thanks to Bluejacket74 for this monster!
This beast pours a deep blackish brown with a faint head of fizzling khaki foam that
dissipates to nothing....but she has mighty fine legs. Nose of bourbon, dark bakers
chocolate, faint coffee, toffee, rich bourbon, vinous brandy, and light vanilla. Flavors
find 11 on the amp. waves of bourbon, subtle coffee, rich bakers chocolate, vinous
brandy, toffee, moderate char, deep roast, and a melange of dark fruits of blackberry
and cherry dancing about oak. Mouth feel is full, smooth, rich, pleasingly coating, very
warming, faint carbonation, and a rich warming finish ending with a nice bitter malt note.
Overall....whew! Another imperial masterpiece from the good Bru folk who develop stellar
flavors with aplomb!
Cheers

In true imperial fashion, The Bruery is out for tastebud conquest with a whopping 23.1% stout that shows extensive bourbon barrel aging and copious amounts of cocoa nibs. Those poor tastebuds never stood a chance.
Thatch-like upon its pour, the thick, heavy and ominously dark elixir settles into the glass like an evil version of port wine or brandy. Equipped with sticky legging and swirling with virtually no froth, the ethereal scent of sugar laden booze, chocolate, coffee and bourbon nuances truly seduce the nose. With the first sip, the senses awaken with the presence of spicy chocolate, blackstrap molasses and kahlua.
As the most gentle sip expands across the middle palate, its dominance continues with chocolate covered espresso bean and a deepening, darkening taste of boozy baker’s chocolate woven together with those savory sweet remnants of malt. Coconut, caramel, vanilla, walnut and toasted oak invite a vinous fruitiness of madiera and sherry to finish off the session hot, moderately bitter and roasty.
Full, rich and truly decadent, the enormous stout is pleasantly cloying and chewy. Lasting with hints of burnt brownie and smoky chocolate, there’s a natural presence to the cocoa nibs and the bourbon flavors that fit together nearly perfectly.

Chocolate Dynasty pours an almost black color, with not much head. The aroma is rich, notes of oak and bourbon. The flavor is very rich and sweet, with big notes of bourbon, vanilla, and even more chocolate. The feel is thick, and extremely rich. Overall, it is a very rich stout, big, big flavors, sweet, and lots of chocolate.

375 ml bottle, bottled 04/26/24. Served in a chalice, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch tan head. Head retention is decent enough, and there's a small amount of lacing. I like the aroma, the brew smells like chocolate fudge, vanilla, bourbon, cacao nibs, roasted malt and caramel. Taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some dark bread, oak, burnt/charred malt and some dark fruity flavors. Lots going on here! Mouthfeel/body is full, it's rich and syrupy with a moderate amount of carbonation. Not quite as boozy as I was expecting considering the ABV, but it still packs a punch. Think some age wouldn't hurt this brew. If you like big barrel aged imperial stouts like I do, then this one is for you! Definitely worth trying if you get the chance.
