I thought I would try something a bit fresher. I picked up this bottle at The Brurey Anniversary Party. I am using a tulip glass and serving it at 50 degrees. The pour created a frothy, airy, one-fingered head, light tan head with average retention. The quick dissipation left no lacing on the glass. The color is dark rusty brown, similar to a murky swamp, charting at SRM 26, and semi-opaque. The beer's appearance is average; I was not expecting much head retention due to the high ABV.
Nosing the glass, I smell candied orange peel, toffee, bourbon, char, oak, leather, raisins, malty sweetness, and caramel. Smelling the beer again, I detect floral, light pine resin, vanilla, dried cherries, treacle, figs, and light tobacco notes.
The flavors start with leather, tobacco, vanilla, dried prunes, figs, raisins, malty sweetness, caramel, bourbon, oak, char, toffee, sorghum, and dried cherries. After I sipped the glass, additional flavors were orange peel, light Maillard, floral blossom, bready, lightly toasted malts, roasty notes, pine, and earthiness.
The mouthfeel is slightly astringent and tannic, finishing warm. The body is medium-plus and has medium carbonation.
Cire is a fantastic beer. The whiskey aging is stout with a robust malt profile. I tried the OG Cire; while that beer is delicious, this one is a bit more special. The Bruery crafts some exceptional beers; only a few that I have questioned its existence. What a great way to finish a rough day.

From the 750 ml bottle in a snifter via Bluejacket74! Cheers Dude! This exceptional
old ale (a personal favorite style of mine!) pours a murky burnt auburn brown with a
moderate head of off white foam that settles to a thick ring, thin dusty layer, and sports
some mighty fine legs! Nose of bourbon, oak, vanilla, rich caramel, figs, dates, raisin,
subtle brandy, and rich toffee. Flavors are through the roof! Toffee dances about waves
of bourbon, mellow vanilla, tart pie cherries, raisin, caramel leaning towards butterscotch,
figs, dates, herbal hops, leather, tobacco, and sweet oak. Mouth feel is medium, light
carbonation, very warming, well balanced, and finishing moderately dry.
Overall, another fantastical brew from a fantastic brewery! Balanced yet assertive, bodacious
and contemplative. A fine sipper indeed!
The good Bru folk always come through, and this is no exception!
Cheers

Cire—Blender's Choice pours a dark, cloudy brown with a small head. The aroma is filled with sweeter raisins and vanilla. The flavor has big notes of sweet, rich raisins, lots of oak, and vanilla, then finishes with caramel and toffee. It has a good, rich, big feel. Overall, it's a big, warm beer packed with rich bourbon flavors.

750 ml bottle, 2024 edition, bottled 05/08/24. Served in a Bruery tulip, the beer pours a cloudy brown color with some reddish tints to it. There's about an inch light tan head that stuck around a little bit, and a small amount of lacing. I like the aroma, the brew smells like dark fruit, caramel, vanilla, bourbon, raisins and molasses. I think the taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some earthy, oak, leathery and toffee flavors noticeable too. Mouthfeel/body is full, it's creamy and a bit coating with a good amount of carbonation. It is a little boozy, but not as much as I was expecting it to be. I liked this brew and thought it was pretty good overall. Definitely worth trying if you get the chance!
