750mL into a tulip. Pours a muddy mahogany (based on experience, chill hazed) with minimal khaki head.
Aroma is sweet and fruity with notes of caramel, vanilla, rum-soaked dates/figs, molasses.
Taste follows nose. Warm bready malt with plenty of brown sugar, toffee, raisin, vanilla, oaky booze.
Mouthfeel is in the heavy side of medium with a lingering finish. Warming 19% ABV as it goes down.
Overall another worthy addition to the Bruery anniversary series—consistent but also very similar to the other beers in the lineup.

Dark brown color. medium-sized, off-white head. Toffees, caramel malt, cocoa, and fruits in bourbon in the aroma. Rich, malty but moderately sweet taste.

Bottle: Poured a deep dark copper color ale with a medium size brown foamy head with some retention and light lacing. Aroma of heavily caramelized malt notes with some light residual sugar notes, some toffee and some bourbon notes. Taste is also a mix of caramelized malt notes with some bourbon notes and toffee with light residual sugar notes. Body is about full for style with good carbonation with some warming alcohol notes. Interesting and enjoyable BA old ale.

On tap at The Bruery in Placentia, CA.
I feel good. Not great. Maybe how Ghengis Khan did after impregnating woman #3,041. Like, he still rocked it, but it’s not like a special number or anything. And yeah, good beer. But I’m not feeling it like King Arthur after his 3rd chalice of mead.

Draft in a 10 oz tulip glass.
Sooo mellow. Nice, smooth, plum, touch of alcohol but it does not taste the abv.

750 ml bottle, 2024 edition, bottled 05/28/24. Served in a Bruery tulip, the beer pours a murky reddish/brown color with about an inch light tan head that stuck around a little while. Small amount of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like caramel, dark fruit, vanilla, bourbon, molasses and some toffee. Taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some earthy/woody, raisin and boozy flavors. Mouthfeel/body is full, it's slick and a bit creamy with a good amount of carbonation. Booze packs a punch at first but does ease up as the beer warms. I thought this was a good overall brew, but with that being said aging this one might not be a bad idea since it's still kinda boozy.
