16oz can from the Bruery, clear golden body with a creamy off-white head. There is a TON of coffee in this, which I dig...other than that, the winter spices and vanilla sweetness dominate, Decent, would have liked some actual pumpkin in this one per its name.

i dont believe there actually is pumpkin in this, kind of wish there was, and if there is, i wish it were a bit more appreciable, its heavy coffee, a lot of sweetness, the latte part is spot on, the spices and vanilla elements tastefully introduced, not too much of that, but it still hits like fall, even if i am left remembering more directly field style beers from these guys this time of year from ages ago, do they still make any of those? anyhow, the golden stout thing just wont die, but this is a good one, seems like wheat and also maybe oats in here, full and creamy, sweet for sure and the vanilla exacerbates that, a honey note too. like coffee with creamer in the nose, subtle nutmeg and cinnamon bring some warmth as does the alcohol as this sits a minute. i could do without the lactose even though thats the theme here, its unnecessary with how sweet this already is and what the malt does for the body, smooth and rich already. the coffee isnt too roasty or bitter in here and carries no acidity at all, chocolate and even nutty notes to it, its definitely the lead flavor. i get what they were going for here and its a fine approximation, but it lacks a little something, like it should be drier, real pumpkin would fit in very well, and maybe a bourbon barrel treatment to kick it up a bit, but its festive for the season and a fun one to drink down at the new idaho location, seems like things are going pretty well there and i am sure glad to have them in town! wouldnt rank this on the all time hit list for these guys, but cool anyway.

I’m still somewhat baffled by the concept of a “white” or “golden” stout, but this is a beautiful beer. A vigorous pour yielded a super thick head sitting atop a deep golden base.

Smells like a sweet piece of pumpkin pie just as I’d expect. Smells A LOT like Pumking. The taste is exactly the same and total on point for what it’s aiming to be. This is so similar to drinking a Pumking, just with a much silkier, creamy mouthfeel. Great beer if you’re into this sorta thing. (I am.) Wish I would’ve bought a couple more…
