On cask at the Bruery
A: The beer pours a murky dark amber color with hints of brown and a small ring of bubbles.
S: The nose on this beer is super woody. The cedar provides a noticeable spicy character. It's surprisingly nutty with a lot of toasted malt and bread. I don't get the vanilla out of it that I do with regular Loakal Red. There's also some slight booziness.
T: Sort of an odd flavor. There is a distinct chocolate flavor along with lots of wood. The same spiciness of the cedar is there as well as the bread and toast. I'm not sure whether it's the spiciness of the wood or booze, but I feel a slight burn from this.
M: The body is medium with a low level of carbonation.
O: Stop putting cedar in beer!
