Quadruple bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout
Meet the crown jewel of our Black Tuesday family: Black Tuesday Imperial Grand Reserve. We've taken our beloved stout on a four-year journey through four sets of bourbon barrels. The result? A mind-blowing 23.7% ABV masterpiece. Each sip carries tasting notes of roasted fig, dark chocolate, and vanilla telling the story of its patient aging.

From the 12.7 oz bottle in a snifter with a GIANT thanks to Bluejacket74! Cheers Dude!
This excellent imperial pours a deep muddled blackish brown with a subtle quickly
fizzling head of foam that sears to a razor thin ring with some excellent legs with a
swirl. Nose of heavy rich bourbon, oak, rich vanilla, char, dark fudge, and dark
fruits...a massive nose. Flavors are as near to perfect in my opinion as I could
ask for. Huge waves of bourbon, rich vanilla, oak, earthy malts, dark raisin
bread, dark brown sugars, dates, blackberry, raspberry, char, tobacco,
and dark chocolate fudge dashed with dark coffee and astringent booze.
Mouth feel is full, smooth, rich, warming, faint carbonation, moderately
coating, did I mention warming....and finishing moderately dry.
Of note, warmth gives rise to brandy nuances as well.
Overall, a stunner and one of the best I have had.
She's meaty, beaty, big, and bouncy, well balanced, and not cloying.
The good Bru folk know their onions on blending and this is no exception!
Cheers

Poured on tap at The Bruery in Anaheim. Pours jet black. Looks pretty still. The legs on the glass are amazing. Seems like straight bourbon!
The nose is huge bourbon, molasses, brown sugar, dark fruit. Smells like it's straight from the barrel. Some charred wood comes through as well.
The taste is insanely intense. Black licorice, booze, straight bourbon, vanilla, slight salty note, molasses, chocolate, and blackberries.
The mouthfeel is medium bodied and the aftertastes is super boozy. Amazing beer, but can only be consumed in very small amounts!

Surprisingly, I liked it way more than the Gran Reserve version. Black color with a thin, beige head. Dark chocolate, roasted malt, vanilla, and some alcohol in the aroma. Same notes travel into a rich, boozy taste.

Black Tuesday - Imperial Grand Reserve pours a dark brown, almost black, with a minimal head. The aroma is warm, with lots of oak, bourbon, and vanilla, with a hint of figs and chocolate. The flavor is very warm, with lots of bourbon, vanilla, and hints of figs. It has a good, thick feel. Overall, it has big, vibrant, robust stout, huge flavors; wow.

12.7 ounce bottle, 2024 edition, bottled 09/26/24. Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about a half inch tan head that didn't stick around for too long. Not much lacing either, kinda to be expected with a brew this strong. I like the aroma, the brew smells like burnt/charred malt, dark chocolate, vanilla, dark fruit, molasses and some caramel. Taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some oak, dark bread, toffee and earthy flavors. It's a bit boozy too but not as much as I was expecting it to be. Mouthfeel/body is full, it's slick and syrupy with a moderate amount of carbonation. I thought this was a pretty good brew, but aging it some might not be a bad idea. Definitely worth trying if you get the chance!

2024 on tap. Dark brown, black color.
This is a tough call between drinking port/bourbon and a beer. It’s so strong and finishes like whiskey. Tons of oak, bourbon, vanilla, char, heat. Fudge, molasses, toffee. Everything is just on 11. Dark fruits, bakers spice, raisins.
Very tough to score this one. I do like it, it’s well done for how strong it is. It drinks surprisingly easy. It’s just a big boozey beer that I’d be afraid to drink a lot of.
