Rum barrel-aged wheatwine with pineapple, coconut, orange zest, and nutmeg
You’ll have to excuse us, we wrote this after a few pours. This Painkiller-inspired delight really kicks it up a notch, starting with double barrel-aged wheat-wine ale finished in rum barrels. We gave it the full tropical treatment, adding pineapple, house-toasted coconut, orange zest, and nutmeg. Grab your beach chair, call it an island vacation, and – hiccup – enjoy.

750 ml bottle into a tulip snifter. Bottled 6/24/22, had 8/24/24.
Pours a brownish orange color, semi opaque, with a half inch quickly dissipating foamy head and no lacing. Aromas of pineapple, orange zest, rum, light coconut, a little nutmeg. Mostly the same flavors: orange zest, rum, pineapple, light nutmeg when fully warmed. Has a little bit of tartness. Did not pick out the coconut, though. Smooth, a very good medium body, well carbonated.
Nice. The barrels, pineapple and orange zest all show well, the nutmeg and especially the coconut, not so much. At a little more than two years when I had it, could there be some fading? Still, this was worth the purchase.

750 ml bottle, 2022 edition, bottled 06/24/22. Served in a chalice, the beer pours a murky copper color with a few inch light tan head that stayed around a while, had to let this one settle down some before I started drinking it. Decent amount of lacing. The brew smells like pineapples, orange peel, bready and wheaty malt, nutmeg and some rum. Taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some coconut and oak. Pineapple flavor is more tart than sweet here. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's a bit coating and has a lot of soft carbonation, maybe a bit too much for my liking. I liked this one overall, haven't had many tropical inspired wheatwines but this one works good enough.
