12.7 ounce bottle, 2025 edition, bottled 06/18/25. Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch and a half tan head that stuck around for a long time. There's also a good amount of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like coffee, cream, chicory, roasted malt and some nuttiness. For the most part I think the taste follows the aroma, but there's also some caramel, dark bread, burnt/charred malt and earthy flavors noticeable too. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's a bit creamy and coating with a moderate amount of carbonation. Thought this was a pretty good coffee/chicory imperial stout, worth picking up if you come across some. Glad I have another bottle or 2 left!

I decided to try something different tonight and grab this imperial stout. I am using a tulip glass and serving at 54 degrees. The pour created a frothy, creamy, two-fingered, light-tan head that dissipated slowly, leaving bits of lacing on the glass. The beer's color is inky black with dark ebony hues, SRM 36, and an opaque appearance.
Nosing the glass, I notice medium roasted coffee, floral esters, vanilla, anise, dark toasted bread, malty sweetness, woody, leather, earthiness, molasses, caramel, toffee, figs, raisins, and dark chocolate.
The beer's aromas ooze chicory, sweet malt, dark chocolate, and coffee. Sipping the beer, I taste molasses, caramel, earthiness, wood, vanilla, anise, dark toasted bread, char, and light roasted malt notes.
The mouthfeel is chewy, with a heavy finish. The heavy body and medium-low plus carbonation highlight the beer's depth.
Final Impression: I enjoyed this imperial stout; the coffee is bold yet not bitter, and the chicory complements the adjuncts. It is a wonder stout with lots of flavors. I wish I had more of these to enjoy later.

Black color with a medium-sized, beige head. Coffee, vanilla, and milk sugar in the aroma. Rich taste with strong coffee bitterness. Smooth and warming sipper.

another banger here from these guys, love how bitter and intense it is, was worried it would be sweet from the condensed milk, but thats not a super relevant part of this, seems like some of that sweetness is fermented out, or else it was dosed low enough to not really show up, but i loved this, the chicory part is amazing in both aroma and flavor, i exclaimed immediately that it tastes like the yellow cans from cafe du monde in new orleans, which i later noticed they have as a flower pot in the idaho taproom, crazy, but thats what this tastes like first and foremost, so cool. i like this not being crazy strong by the standards, and i dont miss a barrel treatment, i like the fresh and forward nature of the coffee and a barrel might take away from that. a shiny and unassuming near black pour without the insane viscosity a lot of their stouts have, some light carbonation and a short patchy oatmeal colored head. the aroma is bitter, deeply roasty, almost burnt. chicory and coffee together, short of acrid but intense, dark soils, real earthy, subtle vanilla though, an almost warming spice note too, and just a hint of that thick milk, not really a dairy aspect to this though, its way back, lots of dark barley in play as well, bold beer, very intriguing, the coffee quality seems high. the flavor is similar to the nose, bitter the whole way with the roasted chicory in the drivers seat, even ahead of the coffee element, which makes this super unique. somewhat woody to me, not a lot of middle malt balance, more of the coffee as the temperature warms some, really the condensed milk part is way back, but this does have smoothness and very little coffee acidity even with all the bitterness. roast and char but still warm to me in a cozy way, well hidden alcohol, and a some palate permanence for beer thats actually rather dry. neat use of ingredients in this one, solid base stout of course from these guys, and maybe the most chicory forward brew ive encountered. fun and yummy.
