Sap Cap revives a fan-favorite pilot beer, reimagined with our new Barleywine Ale base, Musket. Aged in bourbon barrels, this decadent release leans into rich, autumnal indulgence. Candy cap mushrooms—celebrated for their naturally maple-like aroma—form the backbone of the beer, while real maple syrup adds depth and sweetness. Natural vanilla rounds out the experience, creating a layered, warming sipper reminiscent of maple pastries and slow evenings by the fire.

12.7 ounce bottle, 2026 edition, bottled 02/06/26. The brew pours a very dark brown color with about an inch or so frothy tan head that stuck around a little while. Decent amount of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like maple, vanilla, caramel, bourbon and some breadiness. For the most part the taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some earthy and oaky flavors. Definitely leans sweeter tasting, more so from the maple. Mouthfeel/body is full, it's slick and syrupy with a moderate amount of carbonation. Overall I liked this one a lot, definitely worth trying if you like sweeter tasting barleywines!
