Musket is a new weapon in our barrel-aged arsenal. This bourbon barrel-aged barleywine ale is a precise, powerful counterpart to its sister beer, Bayonet, delivering layered depth with every measured sip. Aging in Four Roses Single Barrel bourbon barrels brings forward rich caramel and malty toffee notes, accented by subtle fruit leather and warming oak. Bold yet refined, Musket is a masterfully aimed expression of barrel-aged intensity—best enjoyed slowly, and always on target.

12.7 ounce bottle, 2026 edition, bottled 01/28/26. Served in a Teku glass, the beer pours a dark brown color with about an inch tan head that stayed around for a long time. Small amount of lacing. I like the aroma a lot, the brew smells like toffee, caramel, raisins, fig, vanilla and bourbon. For the most part the taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some earthiness and brown sugar flavors. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's slick and a bit rich with a good amount of carbonation. It's a little boozy but not too bad at all, this one should age well enough. Thought this was pretty good, it's definitely worth picking up if you get the chance!

The nose is toffee, brown sugar, slight maple, figs, bourbon, and vanilla. Excellent.

The taste is excellent. Definitely on the boozy side, but not too much so. Dark toffee, bread, vanilla pudding, loads of bourbon, oak, plums, very slight hop presence, maple candy, and a nice note of spice.

I am absolutely loving this beer. Glad I have another bottle.
