Shake and Date is a bold, full-bodied barleywine that leaves nothing subtle behind. Built on a rich malt foundation and aged in Four Roses Single Barrel bourbon barrels, this ale is layered with real dates, warming cinnamon, plush vanilla beans, and marshmallow sweetness for a decadent, dessert-leaning experience. The dates bring a deep, natural sweetness that bridges seamlessly into notes of caramel, bourbon, and spice, while a viscous mouthfeel makes every sip linger just a little longer. It pairs beautifully with spiced lamb kebabs—or just as well with a cozy date night in, when you’re ready to shake things up.

12.7 ounce bottle, 2026 edition, bottled 01/27/26. Served in a snifter, the beer pours a very dark brown color with not quite an inch tan head. Head retention and lacing are both good enough. I like the aroma, the brew smells like dates, cinnamon, marshmallows, vanilla and some bourbon. The taste is pretty much just like the aroma, but there's also the addition of some caramel and oakiness. I do think the cinnamon and marshmallow flavors stand out here compared to the others. Definitely a sweeter tasting brew, not sure if pastry barleywine is a beer style yet but if it was this would certainly be one. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's coating and a bit syrupy and has a moderate amount of carbonation. I liked this one a lot, worth trying especially if you like sweeter tasting barleywines and beers in general!
