Stouts are by far my favorite style of beer and Revolution lacks the qualities that i love so much about a great stout. The pour is dark as expected, the taste is chocolate , roasty and that is pretty much the only description I have of it. This is not in a chocolate, creamy type of way but more so like a chocolate ale that is slightly hoppy. Mouth feel is thin. I have had worse, but this is definitely not an accurate representation of a good oatmeal stout.

Nearly black in the tumbler with a a brown-beige head. Nice foam and plenty of suds on the tongue. Cocoa aroma with some hoppy notes.
Tangy and dark-flavored with a deep grainy taste. Big chocolate flavor with a bitter edge. Some sweet malt to balance the vast dark roasted and moderately charred barley with just a touch of the sourish charcoal. A dry finish with a light, sudsy mouthfeel that calls for another sip. A very decent American example of the oatmeal style.
Another excellent brew from Black Market. I was surprised but pleased to see the huge expansion into the space next door with a lot of brewing capacity. Not to mention all the cans, a better way to drink beer, in my opinion, than the 22 oz bottles. From the 64 oz growler filled at the brewery in Temecula.

On tap at Black Market Brewing Company in Temecula, CA.
Pours an opaque black with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, cocoa, and char aromas. Taste is much the same with cocoa and char flavors on the finish. There is a medium amount of roasty bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is tasty and easy to drink.
