This taproom favorite, formally known as McPeake’s Nitro Irish Stout, utilizes authentic Irish Malts to deliver notes of chocolate and roast that are elevated by a dose of nitrogen during canning.

Could have sworn I reviewed this. Anyway, from memory...Fresh 16oz can into a 20oz pint glass.
Nose: Coffee, bitter cocoa, nutty
Taste: follow the nose pretty close
Feel: Nitro-pretty awesome. Medium/full bodied.
O/A: Really enjoyed it.

Always nice to see a new offering from Lawson's arrive on shelves. This may be my favorite nitro stout to date -- usually I find them to be too flat and thin, but this one actually had some nice silky effervescence. Standard British stout character with predominant notes of bakers chocolate, herbal hop, and roast. The simplicity works well here, though, and makes it a super drinkable cool weather option

Had this on 2023-12-01 near Pittsburgh, PA from a 16oz canned on 2023-10-25
L - Opaque dark brown with a 3-finger tan head that sticks around with good lace
S - Toasted dark bread, roasted grain, hint of dark chocolate.
T - Mocha latte with a shot of dark roast espresso. Fresh wheat bread crust. There's a pleasant semi-sweet chocolate flavor that balances the roasted mild bitterness. It's really tasty.
F - Medium-full body and light carbonation. Very soft and ever-so-creamy. Totally excellent.
O - This is a great Irish Dry Stout. So much flavor for 5.4%. Killer feel too. I like Guinness Stout but this smokes it. Seek this out.

Poured from 16 oz can into a regular pint glass; no known birth date. Pours pure black with plenty of foamy head and good lacing. Tastes very similar to a Guinness with a slightly sweeter, chocolately taste. Nitro likely helps. A great stout for someone (like me) feeling their away around the style.

Pours very dark brown, clear when backlit; typical nitro head, though a tad more airy than some; I’d describe it as fluffier, not much lace compared to other nitro beers.
Nose is more vibrant than other nitro stouts of had, still a tad subdued but I do pick up a dry tame roast presence; it’s both lightly blackened toast and lightly browned toast…light husk character and nondescript light bittersweet note.
The taste leans heavily into the roast but it is still quite tame; it morphs into a bittersweet chocolate and finishes with a touch of burnt toast.
Mouthfeel is leaning towards medium and has a sweetness to it, light syrupy quality; finishes with some tangy dryness and light bitterness…carbonation is a touch more lively than many nitro beers.

Excellent beer! Chocolate, roasted malt. Keep cold. Follow the directions for a pour. A slightly higher temp for bringing out the flavor notes.

This is a great example of a dry Irish stout. Roasty, dark, but also incredibly light and pillowy. The nitro works well to complement the flavors as long as you pour it as instructed.

Vigorous pour produced 3" thick tan head with excellent retention; color is jet black, though reddish hued as light sneaks on the edges; not too much lacing, but the thick inch or so of residual head follows the beer down. Nose is roasted malt, cocoa powder, chocolate milk, very slight metallic. Taste is mild roast, lightly sweetened chocolate milk, lightly metallic. Mouthfeel is full enough but a bit lighter and less viscous than other canned nitros; wouldn't call this "creamy," and there is a very faint hint of carbonation, like a can of seltzer left open overnight. Overall, a really enjoyable stout.
