Coppery hue almost like a red ale.
This ESB is bitter without benefit of any sort of hop presence. I've had ESB's with a lot of complexity, this is not one of them. It's like a malty lager as it warms, with a spicy bitterness that keeps it a touch unpleasant. Pretty indistinct and uninspired.
I'm glad this was free as I would have been pretty miffed to pay for this, given it was played off as some sort of special brew for Hunahpu's Day. This was the least special and most plain beer of the entire weekend. Considering we're talking about ~100 beers, that's pretty bad.

Enjoyed this beer the day after Cigar City's Hunahpu's Day 2016 in Tampa, FL at the brewery in the tasting room. The Hunahpu's tickets came with a free voucher for this beer. Who can turn down a free beer? Not me! Overall, nothing really special about this brew, and certainly not something I'd purchase.
