Review from backlog. Looking back on this brew, it seems very reminiscent of CCB Vuja De.
A - It pours a reddish-copper hue, almost like tarnished gold, and is capped with some soapy bubbles.
S - The nose is pungent; it is a mix of green apple, apple skin, pungent tropical fruit (though not necessarily passion fruit,) and some nail polish remover. It has a lot of strengths, yet its flaws are glaring too.
T - The beer is more sour and acidic than the nose suggests. Flavors include grape, green apple schnapps, nail polish remover, guava (not passion fruit) and some burnt sugar. This is basically like a more sour variant of Guava Grove, but not really an improvement.
M - The feel is a bit too syrupy for me. As a Saison, it is laughable.
D - As I just said, as a Saison this is laughable. It is not bad if considered a Wild, though not particularly great either.

On tap at the Blind Tiger in NYC for the Cigar City event. Looks less like a beer and more like pale orange fresh squeezed fruit juice of some sort, maybe the guava that these CC guys seem to love so much. Sour as hell, and bursting with tropical fruit flavors; lots of passion fruit and lemon. Goes down very smooth, almost like fruit punch, until the sourness wallops you on the back end, and you feel the acidity like a carving knife down your poor esophagus. A unique take on a saison, highly recommended to lovers of sour fruit flavors.

Yeah my first +Beer on BA! Had this passion saison in a flight at the brewery. pours a light orange color. I couldnt tell much about the head bc the size of the glass. THe smell was just that. Passion fruit with a some hop and a slight sourness. The taste was a bit more balanced then the smell. The passion didn't burst out as much. An interesting concept, it looks good. everything else was slightly above average. Kind of a bummer for my first contribution.
