Enjoyed during my long weekend in Tampa. I had the chance to meet some great people and try some new and some amazing new things. Had a lot of fun, but glad to be home. Enjoyed on 4/11/2011.
The first of two new offerings that I had never heard of, this was for a charity race that had happened earlier in the month and they happened to have some still on tap. A nice medium reddish amber with a smooth off white head that quickly faded but offered a very clear, very clean body with loads of carbonation bubbling up toward the surface. Aroma was light, mostly driven by bready malts and light pinches of rye and light spices. Again nothing really crazy but this seemed to work rather nicely for me. Light caramel malts, hints of grass and a touch of kick come through on the first taste. A bit slick in the feel, it had an almost oily like finish that seemed to coat the palate and leave a small bit of butter like flavor and bready notes along the tongue. Clean finish was over quickly with little aftertaste.
Not bad, not the most interesting thing in the world, but I will admit not bad.

On-tap at CCB.
A - It pours a golden bronze hue, and is capped with some off-white head. Looks very unremarkable.
S - The nose is remarkable... in a bad way. The aroma is vegetal and sweet in an off-putting way. I recall a similar sweetness in CCB Coaster's Belgian Pale, but in that case it worked okay; it does not work in this case.
T - The flavor does not carry over the sweetness from the nose, but the vegetal/DMS and buttery diacetyl are seemingly ramped up. I am not sure why CCB released this, it is not very good.
M - Regular feel, bad beer.
O - Big-time miss by CCB. Not sure what the problem is; this beer is just flat-out poor in almost every regard.
