One of 6 samples at the tasting room 1/29/14, listed as "Chocolate Raspberry Munich-style lager"
Interestingly colored but pretty, actually, it's a hazy pink-purple. The lazy wisp of head is a little lazy but ever-present, however likely, as is the lace.
Raspberry is evident and it's a little crackery-leaning in the malts with a touch of leaf, dark chocolate subtle but noticeably there. There's just the vaguest hint of a sulfuric note with very little interference in the overall profile, a bit more in the nose, and I figure I know what "Munich-style" means. It works together well, actually. There's more chocolate in the flavor than the nose, as it comes out mostly strongly in the finish.
The body is light and it flows softly but with a crispness. Nothing stand out in the feel, but it's got something to it.

On draft at Churchkey in D.C.
The beer appears a dirty, hazy shade of pinkish brown with a half inch of off-white head. The nose brings chocolate, grain, and raspberries. Smells odd. The taste is not so good. Off putting, cloying. Raspberry flavor is weird. Light in body with adequate carbonation. Not a repeat.

From 06/08/12 notes. Had this one on tap at Churchkey in DC the day after their CC event.
a - Pours a hazy pink brown color with one inch of white head and moderate carbonation evident.
s - Smells of light sweet and bitter chocolate, and fruit that has gone bad. Nose seems a bit off, has a little bit of an old garbage smell to it.
t - Tastes chocolate, chalk, and again, fruit gone bad. Worse than the nose, not a great tasting beer.
m - Medium body and moderate carbonation.
o - Overall not a very good beer. Nose is okay but the taste is slightly offensive., and was hard to drink. Wouldn't seek it out again.
