i like all of the saison trinity makes, all so different and delicious, i know this one has some of the same weird ingredients as the death ride, such as tomato, but its not nearly as far out (or strong) as that one. looks pretty standard in the glass for the style, and doesnt have all that interesting of a nose, just saison yeast and a mild earthy spice, almost herbed quality. the flavor is way more alive than the nose for me, and i can pick up hints of sweet squash, wheat malt, and even melon, flavors you really wouldnt think would go together all that well until you taste them in unison in a beer like this. the yeast isnt as funky as i expected, maybe not even bretted at all, and the beer feels a little think and under charged as a result, although the saison strain used is both unique and tasty, maybe it just needs more time. i think trinity is at its best when making unconventional saisons, so i hope the experimentation with beers like this continues!

Poured from a growler into a Chimay goblet.
Appearance: Pours a slightly cloudy reddish amber with hardly any head at all.
Smell: Full of fruity and herbal notes. Banana seems to be the dominant smell along with some sweet malt.
Taste: A lot like the smell. The banana is strong, there isn't to much sweetness, so it's not too overkill. There are some bubble gum notes along with a slightly herbal finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium body with just a tingle of carbonation. The finish is quite dry.
Overall: This was a bit under carbonated. I'm not sure if that is the case from the tap, or just because it was from a growler. Still tastes quite good.

Pours a hazy tan with a silky beige head and some nice lacing. Nose has wheat, cloves, spices and a light pumpkin aroma. The taste is a bit sweet, but kept in balance by wheaty malts and spices. Thin body is lightly carbonated. Another nice Saison from Trinity.
