As 'Pappy Legba' is the guardian to the crossroads, this special Belgian beer releases the first Friday of each New Year. Brewed with just a touch of flaked maize for a seductively creamy texture, post fermentation this special Belgian is aged on a grip of pie cherries, lending it more of a Kriek profile rather than Saison.

375mL bottle poured into a tulip
A: Incredibly frothy head, even with a slow pour. It settles a bit to a burnt orange color but the thick head remains
S: Wheat, Belgian yeast and cherries
T: Matches the nose with cherry up front followed by yeast then wheat on the finish
M: Medium-bodied, surprised by the alcohol on the label as it doesn't show it
O: A decent beer, worth a try but there are better examples of both saisons and krieks out there

Yellow Wax/Capped
Imperial Saison
Poured into a chalice a very nice slightly cloudy, pinkish/orangy color, very nice carbonation, with a very nice thick/foamy/creamy one-finger white head, which also leaves some thick sticky lacing behind. The nose is malty, yeasty, very nice spice note, coriander, peppery, with some nice citrus. The taste is very nice, malty, yeasty, spicy, coriander, citrusy, tart. Medium body, ABV hidden very well, really a pretty complex brew, very nice bitter/dryish finish. Overall, this is a very nice brew, surprised me.

A: The beer is hazy dark yellow in color. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that died down a bit but consistently left a short head covering the surface.
S: Once the beer warms up, faint aromas of cherries become noticeable.
T: Faint flavors of yeast, spices, and cherries are present in the taste.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: For a big beer, this is underwhelming and a little light in flavors. It seems to taste a little more like a triple with the malty sweetness.
