Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a dark brownish orange with a half finger off-white head with great retention and solid lacing; looks nice. Aroma of malt wort, a little caramel, dark fruit and ripe apples. Flavor is malt wort with some graininess, over-ripe apple, hints of ripe light stone fruit and hints of Belgian spicing; some tartness in the finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. The unfermented grain component in this seems to be more noticeable than in other NA brews. I was hoping the Belgian yeast and spicing would make this even more interesting, but it didn't work for me. I like malt, but I think for my palate, that stout and light ale bases are the most appealing for this style. I'm a fan of Belgians and enjoy an occasional NA beer, but this one is not for me, perhaps due to the finishing tartness. Looks very nice.

Bottle. Tan head. Good retention and lace. Clear copper color with a ruby hue.
One of the best NAs, especially when you consider it is a Belgian dark. Has all the flavors and maintains decent body. Banana, clove, spice, bubblegum, caramel, toffee, cocoa. Belgian candied syrup. Red apple skins and pears as it warms. Touch of molasses.
Smooth and flavorful. This one is a winner!

Poured from a bottle into a snifter
Appearance - The beer pours a deep ruby color with a fizzy head of off white foam. The head fades quite quick leaving a touch of fizzy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is strong of a cherry and raisin aroma, mixed with some cracker malt and a bit of coriander and clove. There are also light notes of must and a little bit of almost a tarragon and oregano smell.
Taste – The taste begins with a blend of the cherry, plum, and light grape mixed with a little bit of cracker and biscuit malt (very light). There is a touch of a woody taste as well as some light notes of spice, with some coriander, oregano, and tarragon. Unfortunately, there is no clove, which would have really helped, but regardless, as the taste advances some light hop joins in, with more herbal notes taking on the scene. A little bit of a cough syrup like flavor develops on the back end, leaving one with a minimally Belgium like dubbel taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – the body of the brew is thicker then I would have anticipated for a 0.0 % brew with a moderate and somewhat prickly carbonation.
Overall – Nope. Not for me. The spice and flavor profiles are off, as well as the body profile.

From Belgian Style Ales.
Pours a clear amber with a 2 finger head of foam, excellent head retention and lacing.
The smell is malty, caramel with lots of grain.
The taste is sweet grain, caramel, a little nutty. Bit of tartness as well. Very cereal like.
Decent body, not something that I would drink again.

A nice lunch beer if you can't take a nap that day.
And it's a pretty Looking ale also; nice foam on a ruby body. Smells are mostly the dark malts offering a subtle fruit compote that includes brewers sugar. Tastes are balanced, not too sweet. A bit thin if compared to a dubbel, but above average for a LAB (Low Alcohol Beer.) Soft, pleasant and I want another with either lunch or cheese.
La Trappe may be the first Trappists to come out with a LAB. But the staff at London's UtoBeer, where I bought this and many other Belgians, said Chimay is supposed to be releasing one soon. Since monks as master brewers tend to keep the LABs for themselves, these might be a pretty good pipeline. And healthful (less calories); maybe even spiritual, too !

Dark amber colour with ruby highlights, clear. White foam made of small bubbles, high, persistent.
In the aroma, mainly dark malts, notes of roasted sunflower, caramel, candied sugar. Quite pleasant.
Taste: here a delicate acidity coexists with a slight dryness.
Medium saturation. Body lean, thin. Texture a little rough. Medium-long sour, bitter aftertaste.

330 ml bottle, at Cardinal, Stavanger. ABV is 0.0%. Clear and beautiful deep reddish brown colour, large to moderate off-white head. Aroma of malts, caramel and brown bread. Smooth mouthfeel. Flavour of malts, caramel and toffee but not too sweet. Pleasant and easy drinking.

I think this is very well done. The closest NA to a Belgian Dubbel that i have found. Has so many great characteristics of a Dubbel sans alcohol. It was wonderful on a snowy winter morning. Wish it was easier to find in my region.
