Had this at the Revolution tastin' room in Paonia. This is actually a pale ale/IPA brewed with all local ingredients and cherries.
Arrives a weird cloudy amber color with bright reddish highlights. Head's there, but it's kept to a minimum intentionally.
The flavor is walks a fine line of balance between bitter/floral hops, while still having the rounded sweet fruit flavors play a major role. I don't think it's packing IPA-level hops or bitterness, but they're absolutely there and not hiding. The cherry flavor is a mix of slight tartness and sweet, but never overbearing.
This is a beer that could've fallen on it's face and it would be easy to simply admire the effort. However I'd say this was genuinely good and a fine example that fruit beers don't have to be boring blonde ales with some puree tossed in for the nose.
Having more than one is no issue thanks to the hop balance and medium body.
This is a solid brew and one of several examples that Revolution is doing things the right way.
