10 minute walk from my AirBnB. Impressive selection of Cantillon and things Cantillon lovers would love. Staff was awesome, very friendly, loved talking about beer from different locations, great recommendations.
Place is a little odd...seems like no "tap" beers, but lots of cans and bottles, some refrigerated, that you can drink there.
I doubt I'll have much chance to hang out there, but so far it's my favorite beer place in Italy (not saying *that* much, I got here yesterday).

As an American, Off License is a refreshing hybrid of a bar and bottle shop.
The Vibe is that this is going to be different: four people drinking and conversing as I walk in to buy beers that I can't buy in the States. While there is a good balance of European beers and a few Americans among the, say, 300 varieties on the shelves, this is not a mega-store. It is cool. Quality is mixed because there are lots of Italian brewers mixed in. (Everyone deserves a chance.) The owner was very helpful. The Selection was quite good and I want to go back to pickup those brewers that I missed... since I only walked out with 7 bottles/cans.

Stopped by on a quick visit to Rome. This is a tiny shop with one wall of beer and a fridge on the other side. However, that does NOT mean that the selection is bad. In fact, they have an amazing number of beers from Belgium, Canada, the US, and others. They had one Cantillon, a couple of 3Fs, and a bunch of other great stouts and IPAs. Definitely worth a visit.

Huge selection of bottled beers. Locals well shown as well as other countries. Johnny a fount of knowledge and very accommodating. Tried one of the shop's collaboration saisons with a local brewery which was very nice. Bottles can be cracked there and then a drunk outside on the street. Prices were fair.

I went here on a trip to Italy a while back and stubled onto this place. What a great find. With the crap beer found in Italy, I was amazed that this place was here. I gave it a five for selection, because you can't find this selection anywhere near here. This place was amazing. The owner is from Ireland and loves beer, but not much going on in Italy. He was great to talk to and recommended some great beer. It is kind of out of the way, but only 2 blocks or so from the nearest metro station so it is easy to get to. Very worth it a must stop for any beer lover in the beer lacking Rome.

Located close to the Vatican and the nearby metro station.
A nice looking store with a decent amount of space. They keep a lot of their beers in fridges, and the rest of them on sturdy shelves in a reasonable cool room (air conditioning is really beneficial in a city with such high temperatures). It's bigger than the other Johnny's Off License store, but they carry about the same amount of beer.
They have a very good selection of Italian craft beer with some real rarities on the shelves. Belgium and the UK are also represented by good selections of beer. Some Danish stuff as well. Only a few American beers when I was there, though, but the ones they had where of good quality.
Staff is friendly. Prices are a little high, even on the Italian stuff, especially on the rarities.
Their website is not very informative though, and isn't updated regularly.
If you're in Rome and looking for good beer, a visit to this store or the other one is really worthwhile.
