From mybeerbuzz : "2009 Pumpkin Saison ("Tree-fitty")- Spontaneously refermented on oak for (350) days, this has soured nicely and is perhaps the most refined oak aged offering to date. We will put up a few sixtals for this Halloween weekend, and reserve the rest for blending and rainy days." Served in an 8 oz flute.
Pours a cloudy, hazed cidery golden amber color with a thin off white head that leaves small streaks of lacing. The aroma and flavor of this are wildly unique and without any other reference point or baseline for something like this I'm going to consider them perfect. Aroma is a rich, mildly sweet pumpkin pie with a slight sour, lemony undertone. There is also a light traditional earthy and yeasty saison note. The flavor is more sour and wild tasting, with lemon, funk and puckering sourness. Mouthfeel is medium thick with strong, fine carbonation which helps to manage the sourness and allow the pumpkin and saison to come to he front. The finish remains pleasantly sour with a strong spicy pumpkin punch. Wow, I haven't had the non-BA version of this beer but this was incredible.
