Ordered a pint of this at the brewpub on Friday (09-04-2009) around noon. Review written from notes.
Served in a frozen pint glass - bleh.
Appearance: Body was nearly pitch black, but showed faint brown light through the bottom quarter of the glass. A small, creamy, tan head sat on top initially, but it receded to a creamy, film-like cap relatively quick. That's okay - a quick swirl rejuvenated the head instantly each time. Droopy, web-like lacing all the way down the glass.
Smell: I made sure to let this one warm up first. I suggest you do the same. Roasted malt, oat flakes, and caramel made up the core of this one. Dark chocolate came in more as an undertone. Solid.
Taste: Lots of roasted malt upfront, with caramel carrying the torch through the finish. The oats attacked the corners of the palate. Acidic, dark-roasted coffee peaked through in the finish. Very well-balanced and flavorful.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied as far as oatmeal stouts go. Some moderate bite from the carbonation and other ingredients. Each sip finished a roasty and a little spicy - occasionally sharp/acidic. Smooth yet active, like it should be.
Drinkability: This was a solid oatmeal stout. The flavor profile was nice and strong, and the feel was very enjoyable. I'd definitely order this again.

A solid traditional oatmeal stout. Easy to drink. Refreshing sweetness and creamy nitro mouthfeel.
Water profile is a bit soft, I think it could benefit from bicarbonate. Would also help hop bitterness extraction, which is a bit harsh but still enjoyable. Cascade hops maybe? Gentle lactose and maltose sweetness help make it easy to drink. Light mouthfeel for such a sweet beer.
Well made and recommended!
