Had on tap at Henlopen Oyster House. Review from notes.
A: M7 was purple/brown in color with a small off-white head with a little bit of retention and minimal lacing.
S: Definitely got some of the ginger as well as some dark fruit, caramel, oak, and sugary sweetness.
T: The flavor was pretty similar to the aroma with lots of caramel, candied sugar, dark fruits, plum, raisin, and fig, with a little bit of ginger spice.
M: Medium to full bodied with moderate carbonation, abv hidden nicely.
O: Another solid beer in the Menagerie series from Evolution. Was very happy to be able to try this one.

12oz pour on-tap in the Salisbury restaurant side. Served in a snifter.
A: Murky brownish red color. Very barleywine like. Half finger of off white head. Tons of alcohol feet. Leaving some lacing bits.
S: I get some of that ginger. Immediately get that barrel character. Almost slightly tangy, sour like.
T: There definitely is some tartness up front. Then you get some barrel like character: spice, wood, vanilla, etc. The ginger is there. The finish is lingering. Leaves you with malt goodness.
M: Medium leading to full. Complex.

Belgian strong ale aged in rum barrels with fresh ginger. Somewhat cloudy, pale amber. Nice head. Malty and earthy aroma. Mild oak/rum/spice notes. Strong malt and spice flavor. Enough ginger in here to notice. Mellow rum like flavors. Decent mouthfeel. Really like the whole package here. Well into my 2nd one and damn enjoyable. Another winner for EVO.
