Bomber from brewery. Vary dark amber, small soapy head. Aroma and taste are right on for the style, caramel, malty. Body seems thin, but I bet this would do great on cask.

a solid if samey esb, another well executed classic style from these guys, not enough esb types locally here in idaho, so i was pleased to see this. brewed for the ski resort, but i enjoyed it at their brewery, which is well worth checking out when you are in town here. this has nice clarity, a rust to copper color, a short white head from the tap, and lots of rising carbonation. the aroma is toasted biscuit and whole grain, very cereal forward, a little european with the english yeast note in it, and a touch of sweetness, almost a vienna malt thing going on, simple and good. the flavor is just a little sweeter than i personally prefer all the way though, a honey and slightly caramelized character to it, but also earthy and grounded and toasted and warming and good, and not without at least a bit of bittering hops, i think there is nice balance in this, i just probably wouldnt want to have four pints of it. i like the obvious freshness, the simplicity of the malt bill, and the english vibe of in the fermentation profile. a nice colder weather beer that probably is awesome after a day on the slopes. i hope to find that out for myself later this winter. salmon river is doing a nice job across a pretty wide spectrum of styles, keep it up!
