This French Farmhouse Ale, with it’s distinctive pale orange color, has medium bitterness. With light fruit characters, it also exhibits a spicy black pepper flavor. It is quite drinkable.

On-tap at Kuhnhenn. Served in a taster glass.
A - White foam settles to a solid cap, leaving behind minimal lace. Mildly hazy, golden bronze body with some bubbles visible.
S - Very peppery, very phenolic yeast, with some fruity esters and light malt sweetness to it. Your typical berry, stone fruit, pear and apple flavors.
T - The flavor seems off, with a papery, oxidized character to it. Tangy yeast dominates, with less of the sweet and fruity flavors found in the aroma. Not so good.
M - Pleasant carbonation, medium body, crisp and clean finish. Lightly dry, with no obvious alcohol.
D - The flavor is off for some reason, but otherwise it's a 'to-style' French Saison. Not sure what happened, but hopefully they fix the problem next time around (like they did with the Wit). Perhaps try a taster if it's a new batch, but otherwise skip it.
