Kasteel Tropical is a fresh specialty beer with a vibrant, yellow colour that will fill your nose with tropical scent of passion fruit. Enjoy the intense flavour of fresh tropical fruit, with a slightly sweet pineapple note and the full flavour of mango – perfectly balanced with the fresh acidity of passion fruit. The tropical flavours linger subtly in the dry, slightly bitter aftertaste. Ready for a taste of paradise?

Being a traditionalists who became a devotee of Honsebrouck's Donker, I was hesitant to try Tropical. But I remembered that Rouge was worth having many times and guessed that Tropical was an innovation stretching not too far from Rouge. Having tasted Tropical, my guess seems good.
Tropical Looks appetising, foamy, clear and more ale-like than its fruity competitors. Tropical Smells tropical, but my nose also picks up harvest tree fruit. Tastes are balanced, but very close to too sweet. Medium-mouthed.
As for the excellent Overall Hugs I award, that's for Honsebrouck being both a traditionalist and an innovator. They have one of the more advanced production breweries for sustainability. They have good distribution in the U.S. market and even have a U.S. English translation button on their website. And their website is generally sophisticated. Sante' and Schol.
