i am amazed at the prevalence of huckleberry beer (and everything else) here in idaho, i thought that was more of a montana thing, but its everywhere! this is one of the lightest fruit beers going right now, and not just because of the low alcohol, but because of the super minimal body and grain presence at all, this drinks like a cross between water and beer and juice, its easy and light and refreshing, and with how crushable it is and how much my lady likes it, it may have earned a semi permanent spot in our fridge for the summer. no color at all to it, i expected a pink color from the fruit, but nothing. aroma is light, with soft berry notes being kind of generic, an obvious fresh lemon character, a little candy note, and a very mild crackery pale barley base. not a whole lot to it, but there doesnt need to be when its cold, a perfect refresher, with a natural enough berry flavor, and the clean and lightly tangy citrus on the back end, so bright and summery! it does have a little residual sugar, and there is no way i can really specifically pick out huckleberry here, like it could be mixed berry or something else, its not that specific to my palate, but maybe thats just me. clean enough, real bubbly, and nice from the can when ice cold. we really enjoyed this, despite it not objectively being amazing or anything, sometimes things just click! my first from wallace but definitely not my last!

edit: this is just not the same on tap as it is in the can, without the robust fruitiness and somewhat less exciting overall, even tired tasting. maybe a bad or an old keg in this instance, but the can is the way to go on this one it seems...

Can from Boise Co-op. Pale peach body, small foamy head, some suspended particles. Aroma is all berries, soft , sweet and fruity. Taste tones down the berries a bit, some of the lager notes come through. Super light, tasty and refreshing. Nice on a warm day.

Draft. Pours hazy golden with a thick soapy white head with great retention. Aroma is huckleberry, wheat, lemony. Taste is lightly sweet, lightly tart, with very faint flavors of huckleberry, lots of wheat. Kind of thin and watery. This is not bad. Much better than I was expecting.
