6 reviews, this is rarer than I thought.
12 oz bottle, some sort of date code, I can't decipher it.

Pours chocolate-y brown, forms a silky dark black body, with a creamy head of 1/2 finger, receding to a stable thin ring.

Aroma...well, I can't think of anything closer to an actual peanut butter cup than this. Smells the same from the glass as it does the bottle. No off-aromas. No earthiness. It's straight melted Reese's. A well-deserved 5.

The flavor is a hell of a base stout, very clean, easy drinking, with roasted malt and deep coffee, slight cream. The peanut butter is an afterthought however. It develops on the back palate near the finish, with a candy shell-like flavor, much like the 'Pieces. I can't say it's a bad flavored stout, it's just lacking the peanut butter.

Feel is slick and oily with a good dose of roasty dryness. A clean finish. Medium-heavy. Just the right alcohol heat for 6%. It's a nearly perfect body for its ABV.

Overall, I'm having a hard time with this one because while the peanut butter is lacking, this stout overall is nearly perfect for its ABV in flavor and feel. The aroma is virtually indistinguishable from an actual peanut butter cup. There is no soapiness or earthiness or anything of that sort. And with the flavor they opted to go with more of a subtle approach which may have saved the beer overall. Sometimes with things like this you can't always get the best of both worlds. This is a top class session stout and while it's not pastry-level or anything of that sort, it drinks like an absolute champ and I highly recommend it.

Price paid : $1.99 / bottle
Would buy again : yes, very enjoyable

Pours dark brown, with red hues when you put it to the light. Has a big tan head. Smell is of smelling a jiff jar. Taste is watered down peanut butter. Mouthfeel is light for a stout. Overall, smell and look is nice, but, could be better with taste.

Really great concept of a milk stout with a strong chocolate background, coupled with a strong peanut flavor. Really nice balance between the two, with the peanut side stronger. Smooth mouthfeel - a little on the flatter side but not badly so. Nose is all peanuts with a hint of chocolate. Overall, a really well made beer that is markedly different from many others.

On tap. Poured out an opaque, jet-black color with a small, khaki-colored head of foam. It smelled strongly of peanut butter, some milk chocolate and caramel. Peanut heavy beer with subtle chocolate notes.

Black in color with no light penetration. Fingernail of brown on top. Light lacing. Smells like a Reeseā€™s peanut butter cup! They nailed the aroma. The taste is more dark chocolate and peanut butter and it seems to all hit at the front of the palate and then it really drops off. The mouth is a tad oily and dry from the fatty peanut butter.
