Love 4P; love that they hold fast to producing classic styles; love that they tend to do it well. But I don't really love this one, even as a lager lover. Done right, this should, to my mind, sort of go down the Broolyn Lager road, but it comes off with a touch too much sweetness to my palate, which hurts drinkability. As ever with these guys, it's brewed well, has proper feel, etc. This one just felt a touch off the mark.

Dark gold color, perfect carb and a touch of sweetness to make this one hell of a great summer beer that I thought stayed pretty true to the style. Would grab again!

Poured a gorgeous clear amber body with a half finger white head. Very nice looking. Scents of lager yeast, sweet malt, a light herbal, floral hop aroma, a light level of sugar cookie-like sweetness, and a light touch of toasted malt. Overall impression of aromas of a light, clean, crisp lager aroma that is straightforward and quite nice. Flavor begins medium-sweet with notes of crisp, sweet malt, light levels of floral, herbal hops and toasted malt. Middle is medium-dry, with a more pronounced hop flavor, herbal and floral with a light though present malt sweetness. Finish is medium-dry with notes of toasted malt, floral and herbal hops and a light malty sweetness balancing. Aftertaste is medium-dry with notes of floral and herbal hops and grainy malt. Overall impression of flavor is of a classic lager that is nicely crisp and refreshing with a good balance of malt and hops. Mouthfeel is medium-light bodied with medium-high carbonation and a crisp yet creamy feel. Overall impression of mouthfeel is of a classic lager. Overall this is a nice American lager, though not the Vienna lager the brewery claims. It is crisp, clean and refreshing in aroma, flavor and mouthfeel. Though it is not the best beer around, it is solid and very good for what it is.
