Best By 3/9/23. Poured at 54°. Deep ruby/ brown with good clarity; fast fizzy khaki head disappeared immediately leaving no cap, ring nor lace; no legs. Some vanilla in nose, but mostly malt. Mild caramel malt; a whisper of vanilla; no discernible coffee; a tiny bit of roast on the back end. Light body; thin watery feel; light carbonation; no warmth from 8.2% abv. Overall, drinks light for an imperial porter; nothing off here, just not much to talk about other than the lack of coffee.

Dark, almost black beer with full foam head.
Nice scents of caramel and chocolate.
Definitely upfront on chocolate and coffee roast qualities.
Vanilla also comes thru.
Medium chewy and sweet finish.
Impressive great tasting beer.

12oz bottle poured into Duvel tulip. FRESHEST BFORE 03/09/21 printed on bottom of neck. So this one is good for another 2 months. Picked up from Total Wine for $2.49 I guess, though the receipt lists the wrong beer.

Appearance - Deep mahogany body with backlight, which only appears as a dim dark red dot. Small one finger head with fine lacing and decent to low stick and retention. 4

Smell -Dusty, musky coffee. Some vanilla. Smells better / less dusty on subsequent sniffs. 4

Taste - Must better than its smell would lead on. Powerful, robust and round up front. All the expected characters. Coffee, some bitterness underneath but very well rounded with the vanilla. Alcohol is pretty well hidden considering 8.3% I can barely notice it. No off flavors. 4.5

Mouthfeel - Full bodied and smooth. Pleasant. No off character. 4.5

Drinkability - Very drinkable. I'd even go as far as to call it sessionable, as far as a coffee porter can be. If you can stand that much heaviness. But there are really no off characters in the places that matter the most. 4.5

Picked up a single from the Craft Beer Hop Stop cooler 11-14-19 for $1.83. Best by 3-6-20; consumed 2-3-20.

Beer poured dark brown with a decent off white head with the original pour.

Nose is nice with coffee and vanilla forward.

Taste is a pleasant coffee and vanilla tinged malt base that is sort of balanced by a coffee bean bitterness. Still finishes a tad sweet.

Mouthfeel is thin and disappointing.

Overall a decent beer but nothing special.

12 oz. bottle - Freshest by 03/06/20:

Pours very dark brown to black with a wispy head. A little lacing sticks.

The smell is of rich coffee, a hint of vanilla, chocolate, some dark fruits.

THe taste is of dark, roasted coffee with a dab of vanilla with chocolate from the malts. Some dark fruit mixes in. Caramel comes through, especially as it progresses. Long finish. Sweet, but with enough roast to keep it from being too sweet. Alcohol very well covered, making it deceivably drinkable.

Smooth. Pretty velvety.

A very pleasant beer. Coffee enhances without overwhelming. A nice, strong porter with a coffee character and a dab of vanilla that doesn't have that "artificial" character. As stated before, the alcohol is well-covered giving it just a touch of pleasant warmth. An excellent brew overall!

LOOKS: Dark brown, with a finger, plus, of tan head that sticks around. Pretty nice lacing, carbonation is loose.
AROMA: Plenty of medium to dark roasted coffee and chocolate. Yea, vanilla is there. It doesn't have that cheap artificial vanilla that you get from some 'big boy' brands.
TASTE: Nice! Good, rich, lingering roasted coffee and milk and dark chocolate. Vanilla is, again, subtle, but there.
FEEL: Slightly below average carbonation. Need those tight bubbles! A bit sticky; this is an 8.2%. Medium feel.
OA: Really nice flavor. Just needs more pow! from the carbonation level.

Black and stern.
Vanilla, chocolate, and a whiff of dishwater.
Mmmmm, lingering deliciousness. A great balance of malty-sweet chocolate, boozy-astringent vanilla, and whiff of coffee beans.
Stout and drippy delectable.
This is a great beer. Highly recommended.

Notes
"Kühl Beanz is our newest Single Tank, and if you don’t speak German, Kühl translates to “Cool.” (If you’re from the Midwest, you’ll get the joke.) Kühl Beanz is a vanilla coffee porter, but not just any porter, a robust porter. We have locally roasted our famous Indian Monsooned Malabar coffee beans, and we cold steeped them in the beer and infused fresh Madagascar vanilla beans.

Kühl Beanz has an ABV of 8.2% and only 15 IBUs. The roasted, caramel malt flavor of the porter blends nicely with the coffee and the vanilla. We chose to release this beer on New Year’s Day to give you a wakeup call to start the New Year."
