The beer pours amber in color with a huge khaki head. Aroma is strange. Smells strongly of applesauce. Some sweet malt, citric tartness, light leather, and an interesting funkiness. The flavor is lightly tart, a touch metallic, and a bit phenolic. The same applesauce character is there. A little bit of oak, maybe some vanilla, and some phenolics. Not a bad beer, but not really what you expect from a Flemish Red.
