12 oz clear bottle, $2.49, into Southern Grist glass.
Peachy-pink, with a bubble gum pink head of 1/2 finger, leaves some lace as it's swirled.
Aroma is a weird combination of sour mashed malt and wine cooler. Slight vinegar, salad dressing, walnut, rye, and cherry wine cooler. Coming off like a strawberry walnut salad on the deck with the sunrise and a non-alchie strawberry daiquiri. My whiteness is showing.
Flavor is cheerwine, sour rye, vinegar'ed cherry juice, slight sour strawberry ropes, grain bill, rye, and sour powder.
Feel is carbonated, slick, oily, very mild alcohol, and a crisp finish.
Overall, not a strong effort from the 'Teche. Not terrible but not something I'll probably finish. This is definitely for the sour fans with an emphasis on sour. Again, like the powder from a cherry or strawberry sour rope. Lots of grain bill though too. Interesting. 2 out of 2 bummers tonight.

4-pack of 12 fl oz bottles nabbed at Total Wine & More, Metairie, Louisiana for $2.99 USD (I think there was a price or scanning mistake and I got all 4 for the price of 1).
"Dry hopped sour mash rye ale."
Served chilled into a stemless wine glass.
Heavy on biscuity brettanomyces with hints of plum, stonefruit, and grape. Maltwise, it's a mess...I think I'm getting caramalt, 2-row, and maybe wheat - but the rye spiciness never really emerges. So much for this being a rye ale.
Hopwise, also a mess...generic floral hops, fruity hops, maybe grass.
It's hard to figure out what they're going for here. It's a drinkable sour ale, but I don't particularly like it and it doesn't fit neatly into any specific style. I think they just sort of mixed up a rye ale with a sour mash sour ale and dry-hopped it without really thinking about what they were going for. The resultant beer is fine, but it's not something I'd buy again (even at $2.99/4-pack).
D+ / NOT RECOMMENDED
