12oz bottle served in a tulip. 2019 written with a sharpie on the label. Bought it at the brewery a few weeks ago. Cap bears the mark of a hand-operated capper.
Pours a dark mahogany color with a small head and a small amount of carbonation trickling up to the surface. Smell is dominated by fig, maybe a little wet cardboard, maybe a little boozy and medicinal.
Taste is odd. There's a sharp tartness that might be sour plum. Booziness is noticeable but fairly subdued. Somewhat woody, some figgy/toffee sweetness. As I sip it (or as it warms), the sharp tartness fades a little but doesn't disappear. Strong fruit skin bitterness.
Mouthfeel is medium to heavy. Overall...it's not bad, it's far from what I would consider a traditional English barleywine (at least based on what I know, which is probably Americanized).

12oz bottle picked up at the taproom in Bothell, Washington.
Their 2019 batch. Poured in to a nonic pint glass.
Look- Clear dark copper/cola color, modest creamy head which recedes fairly slowly to a small cap of foam, light lacing. Light carbonation streams visible.
Smell- Caramel/toffee type malts, booze, syrupy vanilla, big dried dark fruit (raisins and dates), toasted dark bread and a bit of sweet cherry.
Taste- Rich caramel malt, rummy type booze, chocolate, vanilla and dried dark fruits, burnt sugar and some perceived light cherry.
Feel- Medium/full bodied with an superbly smooth texture, boozy heat in the finish. Light carbonation on the tongue. A serious stickiness to it.
O- I've only had one or two different English style barleywines but this was good. At the high ABV it's a one a night type beer.
