Deep, dark brown body like anthracite coal; huge dense and creamy head, sticky and rocky and long lasting. Soft, delicate aroma of cocoa and mocha. Light chocolate and cocoa taste with a slightly sour, lactic overtone. Medium-heavy body; smooth, spongy, and somewhat oily.
In my mind, this is kind of like a sour brown or oud bruin kind of beer because of its sour overtones. It has great looks and mouthfeel, and the taste, well, it ain't bad, just different...

22oz bottle picked up at their taproom in Bothell, Washington.
No dating. Poured in to a pint glass.
Look- Slightly hazy dark mahogany/cola color, nice light khaki head that recedes fairly quickly to a thin cap, a fair amount of lacing. Light carbonation streaming as it sits.
Smell- Rich toast and caramel type malt, brown sugar, dates and raisins, chocolate and vanilla, light roasted coffee and nuttiness some spice notes and a bit of Sulphur.
Taste- Follows the nose well, fairly sweet with a bit of tangy cherry and citrus in the finish.
Feel- Medium/light bodied, somewhat sticky, smooth with a lightly bitter finish, nicely balanced. Moderate/light carbonation on the tongue.
O- Pretty solid overall. Not the best porter out there though.

I had this on-tap in a pint glass at Special Brews in Lynnwood, WA.
Appearance: deep, rich brown hue with minimal haze. No head, but that's probably just the pour. Nice look.
Smell: nice toffee and caramel sweetness. There's a light chocolate element here as well. Overall it's a bit light, but the composition is quite enticing.
Taste: toasty and nutty with a little bit of toffee character. Mild, but quite enjoyable.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a nice carbonation. There's a nice mild creaminess going on here.
Overall: a very drinkable beer. It's mild in a lot of ways, but in the end it really comes together. I'd definitely have this again.

Served in straight pint glass. Poured a barely translucent black with an inch of tan head that had very good retention and good lacing.
The aroma was dominated by a huge blast of roast. There were some underlying grains and malts, but roast clearly was the alpha dog here. On the tongue, the roast wasn't quite as bold, which let the base grains show through a bit better.
The body was good, full, smooth and even. The beer had a clean finish, even though the roast lingered at the back of the tongue for a bit. Drinkability was very good, the beer drank with a pleasant quickness. Overall, a nice take on the style. Certainly worth trying if you see it.

Poured cola brown with a finger of dark khaki head. Mildly sweet aroma of milk chocolate and hints of coffee.
Somewhat low carbonation and a creamy, light mouthfeel. Cocoa and caramel sweetness up front and a roasty, lingering coffee bitterness on the finish.
A little on the thin side but very pleasant tasting and easy-drinking. Comes across lighter than the ABV would indicate.

From a growler, this porter was full bodied with a nice roast flavor. There is a very pleasant after-taste with this beer. The 6.6% ABV was well hidden and did not over-whelm. Definitely a well brewed porter. I enjoyed this beer very much. Looking forward to trying Foggy's other offerings.

I drank a half-growler of this ale and noted at least one distinct property about it. From across the table, the beer's carbonation sizzled like the sound of Rice Krispies and milk.
Duck showed a hearty beige head and a charismatic milk chocolate/cocoa fragrance. The taste delivered equal parts of casual sweetness, smooth chocolaty goodness, and integrated roastiness. The body was brown-ruby and the mouthfeel jubilant and fluffy. Very nice.
