Poured into an Elysian snifter. Pours an opaque black with a half finger light brown head that dissipates slowly to a ring around the glass and light lacing. Aroma of coffee, toasted grain, coffee, light chocolate and coffee. This is a serious brew aroma in more than one way. Flavor is also dominated by coffee with mild toasted malt and a hint of bitter chocolate. Finishes with coffee and a light hop bitterness. Light to medium bodied. If this was a mixture, I'd assume it was 9 parts coffee to 1 part stout. Interesting and different, but I would have liked a bit more malt presence. This would have scored higher under a coffee category. Like other Foggy Noggin beers I've had, interesting, well made and a bit idiosynchratic.

A: Poured jet black with a nice brown cap
S: Nice, big and rich coffee beans, Folgers style. Some roastiness, light cocoa
T: Wow. Coffee galore. Like Folgers coffee beans blended freshly with a nice American Stout. A big roastiness with some cocoa. Has a nice bitter bite end
M: Loads of flavor, big body, not overly effervescent like many coffee beers. Nice balance.
O: A great breakfast beer here. Try it.
